Taco Bell Revival

Taco Bell, one of the most successful Brand is US was majorly suffering several years ago.

Do you know what they did?

They did a ‘Dip Stick Study’ to find out that the Biggest, most important, and most frequently occurring problem with the brand was that their products were just too messy. Their Tacos, Burritos and Nachos just did not work ‘on the go’ and they could easily end up in the customer’s lap if one dared to eat & drive. That’s a big issue, when 70% of the business was coming from the Drive-thru.

They started working on the products towards making them less messy. In fact, they re-launched their two unsuccessful products in the past, Quesadilla & Grilled stuffed burritos by adding the grilling process in the making, which was sealing the Tortillas.

After this they Signed off Jeff Bezos of Amazon as their celebrity Spokesperson and advertised the quesadilla as the hottest ‘New Handheld’ in the market, a takeoff on the new technology craze that was appealing to their young target audience.

The Grilled Stuff Burrito was re-launched as the “Heavy duty portable”.

The same two became a hit in no time and the sale of Taco Bell started growing and recorded a double digit same stores sales growth.

1. Take time to step back and Analyze

2. ‘Know your customers’ and ‘solve their problems’

3. Work on Product — Make great products & Bring Convenience around the product

4. Market Well — Marketing is everything
